R&D Lab Technician

We have an opening for a Lab Technician to join our Research & Development team.

Summary: This position requires an individual with color matching skills and the ability to match cosmetic products shades without or with minimum supervision; some knowledge of cosmetic products is a plus. The individual will be responsible for preparing lab batches of various formula types based on prototypes as directed.  Tasks will also include filling tubes, jars, or specified containers with product and applying appropriate identification labels.  The lab technician may also conduct larger scale lab batches for product testing, customer trialing, hot hold tests, as well as cross-train to assist in stability testing and protocols as needed.  This position also participates in the maintenance of a clean and orderly lab.  This includes ensuring lab equipment such as glassware, metal instruments, sinks, counters, and scales are cleaned and glass and instruments are sterilized when necessary.  Great growth opportunities will be available to the right candidate.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Color matching experience, or ability to be trained and understand the difference between pigments, interference pigments, pearls, glitters.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
  • This person must be detail oriented, self-motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of multiple phase batch making, with experience in testing of products using viscometers, pH meters, Density Meters, color computer, as well as basic office equipment.
  • Can manage multiple projects and consistently meets deadlines and expectations

Manager, Manufacturing

Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, the Manager, Manufacturing will oversee the manufacturing operations for the Organization.  The Manager, Manufacturing will also be the company’s primary manufacturing leadership representative to the Operations Management Team, the Senior Management Team and external guests.

 Key Responsibilities:

*Oversee the Production Department for Packaging, which includes filling and packing. 
*Direct the Production Supervisors for three zones by offering leadership and guidance for excellence in people management, production execution and quality.
*Supervise the Production Process Improvement Engineer
*Collaborate with planning, compounding and the warehouse to ensure that processes are robust and fail-proof to secure the flow of materials for the department and the organization.  Lead and participate in projects to improve processes and strive for excellence.
*Lead and participate in processes to implement and improve data collection systems.  Oversee data integrity and reporting for the Production Department.
*Lead the charge to increase efficiency and reduce machine stops by coaching supervisors and team leads to understand the principles of Lean Manufacturing. This includes line set ups and labor delegation.
*Participate in New Product Development (NPD) as the Leadership representative from Manufacturing.  Understand and provide guidance so that the teams understand the manufacturing capability of suggested products.
*Oversee the Training Program for the department.  Collaborate with the Safety and Training Manager and trainers to ensure the program is robust and operational. Provide talent management strategies to create career paths for employees using the Skill Base Pay model.
*Collaborate with the Quality Department to rectify and train employees on non-conformances and CAPA projects.  Institute the culture of accountability within the department to ensure excellence.
*Serve on the Steering Team for operational excellence and be a champion of operational excellence at Autumn Harp
 

Ideal Experience and Skills:

*Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/ appropriate experience
*Full understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
*10-15 Years of Manufacturing Experience
*5-10 Years of Experience in a leadership role
*Have the ability to thrive while working in a cross functional team based environment
*Experience with Microsoft Office systems
*Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a personal commitment to succeed   

Team Leader

E4 Shift, Zone 2

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - 6:50pm to 7:00am

 The Team Leader will report to the Zone Supervisor and perform duties as assigned that include: meeting the daily manufacturing schedule, helping associates with specific duties, solving problems, and communicating daily manufacturing information to the production teams.  The team leader needs to be familiar with machinery and equipment; able to trouble-shoot as necessary and as directed.  Solid verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and excellent follow through are all required skills for this position.  Previous experience in a GMP environment and Lean manufacturing would be a plus.

Weigher

Weighers

Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

The Weigher would be responsible for weighing and measuring the raw materials required for our Compounders and R&D department. The basic responsibilities of the position include: weighing out raw materials; inventory paperwork; and material handling in compliance with specific inventory control procedures.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic chemistry or food science. 
  • Must be a team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift 30lbs frequently, and up to 75lbs occasionally
  • Able to work around hot pour perfumes and fragrances on a daily basis
  • Have normal hearing and vision with the ability to discern colors
  • Above average reading and math skills
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing environment is a plus
Production Operator

E1 – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 6:50am to 7pm

E2 – Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6:50am to 7pm

E3 – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 6:50pm to 7am

E4 – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 6:50pm to 7am

Quality-minded, dependable individuals are needed to join our talented production team.  Our ideal candidates must be reliable, honest and respectful; and possess sound reading and math skills. Prior experience in manufacturing and mechanical aptitude, a plus.  Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position; which includes the ability to lift 30 lbs or more; able to stand and walk for 12hrs/day; able to perform exacting tasks by hand. 

Sanitation Officer

E1 Shift - Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 7am to 7pm

We are looking for a dependable, full-time employee for the washroom.  Sanitation officers are responsible for the overall cleaning and sanitizing of processing equipment including batch buckets, kettles and other items used in the operation.  Sanitation Officers must be able to have a positive attendance record, have the ability to speak, understand and read English; must strictly adhere to all safety procedures and meet the physical requirements of the job; which include, but not limited to standing/walking for 12-hours shift and lifting up to 50 lbs.  Mechanical aptitude and inclination a plus.

Mechanical Operator

Our Mechanical Operators work as line operators and also assist mechanics with setups, changeovers and preventative maintenance as assigned. Our ideal candidate is either a mechanic who is willing to work on the lines or a line operator who has strong mechanical inclination. Must be able to perform exacting tasks by hand; lift 40-50 lb loads; stand and walk for 12 hrs/day; and have solid reading, math and computer skills.
