Controls Engineer

The Controls Engineer reports to our Manager, Engineering and is critical to the Maintenance and Engineering team by providing daily support on the existing control systems and assisting in complex system troubleshooting.  The Controls Engineer is also responsible for control system upgrades on existing industrial equipment.  The Controls Engineer will also have the ability to build new systems either from scratch or through collaboration with external OEM or integrators.  The Controls Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining the manufacturing plant network with support from the onsite IT department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot Existing Control Systems
  • Champion Control System Upgrades (which will require learning legacy systems)
  • Design, Commission and Debug New Control Systems
  • Development of new and adherence to existing standard operating procedures and programming guidelines
  • Have a Flexible Work Schedule to Support the Needs of the facility
  • Mentor Technicians on Basic & Advanced Control System Troubleshooting\
  • Identify, innovate and implement solutions to upgrade equipment for improved Safety and/or process efficiency
  • Willing to Learn a New Control System
  • Attend offsite meetings for engineering design reviews, factory acceptance testing, industry seminars or training workshops (infrequent travel)

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 5+ years in PLC and HMI programming and configuration along with troubleshooting and solving software/hardware issues in an industrial environment
  • Rockwell Studio 5000 and Factory Talk Studio knowledge
  • Interpreting Electrical and Mechanical Drawings, VFD Configurations, Integrated Motion Systems, and RSLogix 500
  • Strong project management and computer skills
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Siemans TIA Portal, ABB Robot Studio, SCADA (Aveva), Networks, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Power Distribution and Process Flow knowledge a PLUS!
Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and will perform dual roles with respect to General Ledger accounting and maintenance as well as Accounts Receivable duties.  The Staff Accountant will be a key member of our Finance Team and will be involved in many collaborative processes with other departments within the organization.  The ideal candidate is a critical thinker, enjoys collaborating and problem solving and possesses a can-do attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger:

  • Responsible for month-end close journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and expense account analysis
  • Develop and modify work instructions for key procedures and policies
  • Assist with annual audit and fulfill requests from audit staff
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the department

Accounts Receivable:

  • Generate and distribute invoices and credits in a timely manner
  • Manage A/R aging analysis and customer collection
  • Post cash receipts daily
  • Month-end / year-end reconciliation, close and reporting
  • Prepare bank deposits

Other:

  • Provide backup for Accounts Payable as needed

Experience and Skills required:

  • Must have 3-5 years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Customer service focused
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, strong interdepartmental communication, and collaborative skills

Autumn Harp, a private label custom contract manufacture of cosmetic and personal care products has an opening for a Maintenance Apprentice on our Maintenance and Engineering team. 

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Aids other technicians in mechanical support service to operational changes resulting from setting up and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and robotic equipment.
  • Observes operation of equipment, troubleshoots abnormalities, locating sources of problems, repairing defective parts, adjusting functional parts of devices and control
  • instruments, controlling downtime, and fabricating repair parts with and without direct assistance from senior technicians.
  • Assists in preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Works safely and supports safety across the organization. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have either 3 years production experience, 2 years mechanical experience, a college degree in an engineering discipline or an equivalent combination of experience.

Maintenance Technician

Night Shift – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 645pm to 7am, alternating Wednesdays 645pm to 3am

Autumn Harp, a private label custom contract manufacture of cosmetic and personal care products has an opening for a skilled maintenance technician on our Maintenance and Engineering team.  

Maintenance Technicians work to ensure that all equipment is performing optimally.  Assists with setup and changeover of manufacturing lines.  Performs major and minor repairs as necessary to all manufacturing equipment.  Works as assigned on continuous improvement projects and to ensure that preventive maintenance schedules are met.  Works with computerized maintenance software to ensure equipment logs are maintains to satisfy Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.

 Job Responsibilities:

Product Safety Specialist I

The Product Safety Specialist I is a crucial supporter of the R&D team.  You will be responsible for managing and executing safety and regulatory functions for a cross functional team within Autumn Harp as well as for the R&D team.  This is a hands-on role that interacts closely with all facets of the business and will give you an inside look at how beauty products come to life.  You will be primarily responsible for ensuring that our products are respectful of our customers, retailers, and governmental ingredient restriction policies are safe and effective for customers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with one internal scrum team overseeing multiple customers
  • Assist in preparing Testing Plans for each new product in development
  • Confirm raw material and formula compliance: Review ingredients against global regulatory space.
  • Execute successful product launches: Collaborate cross functionally with the R&D team to create safe, compliant and innovative products that launch in the US and globally.  Partner with customers on a regular basis to ensure timely completion of the regulatory phase of product development.  Strong customer relationships are a key to success for contract manufacturing.
  • Manage Product testing: Set up claims and safety testing required on each product.  Update cross functional team on all external/internal testing with dates and results.
  • GMP and Lab Cleanliness: Help to maintain GMP standards for the R&D space. 
     

Experience and Skills Required:

  • A degree in or related work experience in a scientific field, a plus
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial, positive attitude with the ability to conceptualize and apply innovative solutions

Quality Assurance Coordinator

This position works closely within the Quality team to help to ensure the Autumn Harp quality compliance programs are up-to-date and accurate.  This will include tracking and executing calibrations and pest control, data entry, overseeing the water sampling program and results, administering quality systems, and ensuring documentation is properly completed, stored, and tracked.  The QA Coordinator helps to represents the Quality Department in the manufacturing environment and has significant cross-departmental interaction across the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responds to routine customer complaints; gathers and trends data, investigates root causes, and responds to customer representatives
  • Completes customer-required documentation as necessary for select customers
  • Tracks change control process documentation and progress
  • Assist in administration of quality tracking systems for customer complaints, CAPAs, Deviations, Investigations, and other systems as needed
  • Administers calibration database and tracks calibration due dates.  Conducts internal instrument calibrations and works with external calibration vendors to ensure calibrations are conducted in a timely manner and all required paperwork is completed accurately and on-file.
  • Administers internal pest control program and works with external vendor(s) to ensure program is maintained, documented as required, and updated as necessary
  • Conducts daily sampling of the water system, works with external lab for testing, maintains test results and records
  • Ensures documentation is current, controlled and filed in accordance with the document control procedure.
  • Maintains the nonconformance database, tracks due dates, and works with relevant stakeholders to ensure there is follow-up and extensions requested as needed
  • Assists in maintaining temperature and humidity monitoring programs, tracks logged data, maintains equipment
  • Ensures Quality training records are updated and submitted as required
  • May assist with equipment and product validations
  • Maintains accurate files and records, in compliance with customer, GMP and FDA regulations applicable to operations.  Files all reports as necessary in a timely manner to remain in compliance.
  • Helps to create an atmosphere that supports respect, honesty and open communication among all employees; encourages employees to celebrate accomplishments and have fun

Autumn Harp is looking to add quality-minded operators to each of our four production shifts.  We are a premier contract manufacturer in the beauty and personal care industry.  New team members can expect to be challenged within our fast paced, FDA regulated, 24/6 manufacturing environment. Our Production Operators run state-of-the-art machinery, follow detailed specifications to produce our finished products, as well as complete required documentation.  Operators tend equipment that perform packaging functions, such as filling, marking, labeling, banding, packing and wrapping components.  Flexibility is needed to work at various stations while following product specification sheets.  Safety is our number one focus and each team member is expected to follow all safety guidelines and report any safety issues.

Our Compounding Technician ensures that all products are batched in accordance to the formula manufacturing instructions or “recipe”. You will stage and verify all required ingredients for bulk products and use state-of-the-art machinery to mix and blend raw materials. Our compounding team is responsible for product flow to manufacturing – providing high quality product that meets standards for flavor, color, viscosity and visual appearance.

Warehouse Associate

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Associate will be responsible for making sure orders get picked correctly and deliveries get out on time.   The right candidate will have the ability to communicate well – both externally and internally; be a team player with a strong work ethic; ability to work productively and independently is essential.  Must be detailed-oriented, highly organized and have previous experience in all warehouse activities including inventory control, shipping systems data entry, forklift operation, and general warehouse reporting functions. 

 Requirements:

  • Must meet the physical requirements of the position
  • Ability to be forklift certified
  • Utilize inventory control equipment; scanning and bar-coding equipment
  • Experience in lean methodologies and international shipping guidelines, a plus. 
Quality Control Inspector

E2 Shift; Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6:45am to 7:00pm 

The Quality Control Inspector reports to the Quality Supervisor and works to assure product and process quality by utilizing quality standards and performing inspections and tests associated with materials and products.  The QC Inspector also represents quality in the manufacturing environment and supports the manufacturing mission: “To make quality products and provide outstanding service.”  

Requirements:

  • Must have sound mathematics and writing skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
